Many refugee mothers carry memories that are rarely written down. The Refugee Archive listens, records, translates, and stores these stories so families, students, researchers, and future generations can learn from them.
Record
Meet with mothers who were forced to leave home and record their stories with care and respect.
Transcribe
Turn each audio recording into written text, so the story can be read, searched, and shared responsibly.
Translate
Translate the story so people across languages can understand it while keeping the mother's meaning clear.
Preserve
Safely organize and store the recording and text so the story is not lost over time.

Our grant target is $12,000. A gift of $1,200 fully preserves one complete oral history of a female headed household. Right now, many more displaced single mothers are waiting to use their own voices to share their stories. Your donor advised fund grant can cover one full story or help several stories move forward.
